Everything I'm Doing in 2026
my goals and focuses for this upcoming year.
Hi lovely people and a very happy 2026 to youuu <3
This post is going up just a tad later than initially planned but nonetheless, I’m excited to share my plans with you for this upcoming year. I know there can be a lot of noise around this time of year regarding resolutions, rebrands, goal setting, the whole nine yards. So I’m hoping this is more of a chill read for the upcoming year and maybe it’ll give you some inspiration for things you can implement yourself.
I’m going to take you through some of my main goals and focuses for the year, broken up into three categories; hobbies, personal, career.
HOBBIES /
✧ everything relating to my leisure.
sourdough starter
about 50% of my tik tok fyp the past year has been the girlies and their sourdough starters and i’ve been desperate to start my own. i’ve procrastinated this because 1) i didn’t have a dutch oven yet and 2) it seemed rather technical and specific so it intimidated me. i’m sure it’s probably quite straightforward when you’re in the swing of things, but if anyone has any tips for this one i’d be very appreciative as i literally have no idea where to start! i’ve got a dehydrated starter that was a gift, as well as some bits of equipment (including the dutch oven) for christmas, so i’m ready to get stuck in asap.
learn italian
i’ve been learning italian for nearly a year now which i want to continue with and also bump things up a notch as i’ve mainly stuck with duolingo. i’ve considered getting a tutor to aid with this goal. i’ve got no idea how long it typically takes to become somewhat fluent? but i seriously admire those who are multilingual, it’s so impressive. i’ve not got any plans to move to italy or anything so this hobby is purely for fun/personal development.
needlepoint
this is a hobby i’ve wanted to pick up for a good while now but i’m slightly intimidated and it’s also kind of a spenny hobby with no clue how to finish projects? any advice for getting started with this one too would be very much appreciated.
scrapbooking + journalling
i’ve tried journalling on and off throughout my life but i want to commit to it more this year, and generally putting pen to paper more often. i also would love to start a scrapbook as the majority of memories are just digital and it would be lovely to have physical reminders i can come back to and flip through.
get an active hobby
one thing about me, i’m a homebody, if you couldn’t already tell. as much as i love the cosy confines of my abode, i do want to balance it all out with something active. i’m a regular 7-10k steps a day girly, but adding in another form of exercise would be fab for me. i took a pilates class recently with a friend which i thoroughly enjoyed, i just don’t want every hobby to cost money. i’m thinking running? i did go through a running era in lockdown so maybe it’s time to bring it back.
PERSONAL /
✧ all things personal development.
improve my financial literacy
this is something i started to educate myself on last year and also worked with a financial advisor on. i’m usually a put my head in the sand kinda person when it comes to finances (money mindset is a whole other topic for another day) but i know that’s not a healthy solution. i’ve always been relatively sensible with money, but i want to build better habits and think ahead with saving, investing, etc. this is also very much in relation to my business since i’m self-employed — when you don’t have an employer sorting it all out for you, it’s left to you to manage it correctly. you’re not taught anyyyy of this stuff at school which is crazy.
express my personal style
99% of the time you can find me in leggings and a sweatshirt, i just reach for comfort most of the time (especially working from home) so this year i would just like to start expressing my style through clothes more. i would like to be a bit more conscious about my wardrobe, finding and investing in staple pieces, and making the effort to dress up a lil more often.
be more social outside of my comfort zone
being self-employed for many years now means i don’t have an office to go into, nor am i meeting new people on the regular, i am very much an introvert and would love to stay in my comfort zone — but this year i’m pushing myself outside of it. i’ve actually joined a local book club and have my first meeting next week so we’re already making progress, yay!
reduce overthinking + things bothering me
this is a bit of a mindset one but i think i exited the womb overthinking and worrying lol. will i ever truly “stop” this? i’m not sure, but i can work to reduce it. this past year, i noticed it was becoming a bit tooo much of a regular occurence and habit for me, like let’s spend our energy on better things girl.
CAREER /
✧ my business and other creative pursuits.
focus on marketing
this is a goal relating to my business (alongside many others that i won’t bore you with here) but it’s a priority to market my business and offers a lottt in 2026. i run a branding studio + creative consultancy so showing up, creating content and talking about my offers is a big focus. i don’t share too much about that side of my life here as this is more of a personal platform/creative outlet for me, but i had to include it here.
start youtube
i kind of can’t believe i’m writing this one. it’s one that feels big and scary to share. this has been something i’ve contemplated for YEARS and have never pressed go on it. i’m such a lover of youtube, it’s one of my most used platforms, and as part of building my personal brand i think this could be the next step. ahhh!!
start a book club
i would absolutely love to host an online book club. i joined booktok last year and having a space and community where people just get you is so special. the idea of a book club has been on my mind for a while, i don’t really know what i’ve been waiting for with this one? perhaps the fear that no one will join? nonetheless it would make me so happy to nurture a community of book lovers where we can bond over a mutual read every month.
I’d love to know if you have any resolutions for 2026?
Okay talk soon,
Imogen x
