Spring Reset & Everything On My Radar Right Now
looking ahead to the spring season; reset, reads, recommending.
I always say that my new year essentially begins in Spring, paired with the Astrological New Year and how nature is gently waking up again. It feels like the right time to start putting our energy into things as we exit a dreary winter.
A new season just feels like the perfect time to refresh, re-set and re-align for the months ahead.
I wanted to share with you how I’m resetting for the upcoming season, as well as some things on my radar that I’m loving right now, as we’re definitely overdue a catch-up.

HOW I’M RESETTING /
The start of a new season always signals a time to reset. Here are a few of the ways I’m doing just that in Q2.
decluttering & organising
Naturally, the idea of spring cleans are fully in motion and the desire to declutter my life has fully kicked in. It’s been a good while since I’ve gone through my wardrobe and sorted through all of my clothes. I plan to donate some, sell some and decipher what I actually wear vs what I hope to wear. This also includes going through all my cupboards, drawers and other spaces where I might be holding into unnecessary clutter. I don’t just stop at the physical, I’m tackling the digital too.
checking in with my yearly goals
The start of Q2 is a good time to look back at all those goals we set at the beginning of the year (I shared some of mine in this post if you want a nosy) and see what we’ve ticked off so far, and perhaps remind ourselves of any goals we’ve pushed to the wayside. I find that consistent check-ins throughout the year helps me stick to my goals better, and perhaps refresh some, rather than setting and forgetting at the beginning of the year.
getting back to healthy habits
I’ve not exactly been unhealthy, but some of my habits have definitely slipped, so I’m just looking to add a bit more nutrition back into my body and finding consistent new ways to move. I’ve been getting out and doing my daily steps first thing in the morning recently which makes such a difference to my mood for the rest of the day, especially with the added benefit of seeing some wild horses near where I live. I’ve been on anti-inflammatory diet tok and really want to implement some recipes and rituals I’ve learned there. If you have any tips on where to start I am all ears. I think we can forget how simple acts of wellness can have such an overall impact in our lives.
EVERYTHING ON MY RADAR
BOOKS /
✧ some current & upcoming reads
Almost Life by Kiran Millwood Hargrave
I’ve just started reading this one and so far I’m enjoying it a lot. The writing is just gorgeous and the story intrigues me a lot, not to mention we kick things off in Paris which I adore, so I’m interested to see where we follow these characters. I believe it’s only recently been released so I’m interested to hear if you have read this or have it on your radar yet?
Kitten by Stacey Yu
This is one that I am so so excited to read. I kindly received a digital ARC for this from the publishers and the premise is incredibly unique and different from anything I’ve ever heard of, and as a cat lover it sounds very much like something I’d enjoy so I’ll be sure to report back with my thoughts.
Funny Story by Emily Henry
This was sat on my TBR shelf for so long and I decided that spring would be the time to finally read this. I’ve only read one or two of Emily Henry’s books before and I’ve heard good things about this one so I’m ready for a sweet romance journey.
✧ some of my recent reads
Half His Age by Jennette McCurdy
A story that was equal parts captivating and gruesome. This raw, messy exploration into power dynamics, abusive relationships, friendships and adolescence felt truly vulgar and obscene at times. I listened to the audiobook of this and enjoyed Jennette’s narration, although it was tricky to separate her from the main character, Waldo. I can’t wait to read more of Jennette’s work in the future.
The Favorites by Layne Fargo
If you’re in the booktok sphere then I’m sure you will have heard about this one already, but this one was SO much fun. Sometimes I just love a drama-filled, gossip and tension heavy book and this seriously delivered. If I’m being totally honest, the ending did annoy me, therefore this just missed out on being a five star for me. Side note: I got about a quarter of the way through before I thought to myself “hmm, Katarina and Heath, that sure does remind me of Cathy and Heathcliff from Wuthering Heights” LOL. Then when I saw a video sharing how this is a re-telling, explaing each of the characters and plot in relation to Wuthering Heights I was like ohhhh.
Olive by Emma Gannon
This is one for my childfree girlies (or just if you have an interest in female friendships, motherhood, navigating life changes) but as someone who currently doesn’t have kids, and doesn’t know if I ever will, this was such an absorbing read. It’s essentially a character-driven story surrounding a friendship group who are all at different points in their lives and we witness how they’re each navigating that, alone and with each other, complete with many raw emotions and drama. It was refreshing to follow a lead female character who doesn’t have or want kids, and I think for parents who have childfree people in their life, this could be quite eye-opening to their thoughts and feelings, and how their life may at times be invalidated or looked down on just because they don’t have kids. It was enjoyable to read about a group of women who are all in different phases of life and choosing their own paths.
MEDIA & SHOWS /
✧ what i’m watching, listening to, consuming.
Sex and The City
I finally caved and bought the Now TV app because as much as I despise having to pay for multiple subscriptions, they do have a seemingly good collection on there, including HBO. I’m finally able to watch SATC and I’m of course loving every minute of it. I’m also watching it in the name of research because I’m currently working through a series where I brand the SATC characters for my brand design business — see Samantha Jones here and Charlotte York here. The remaining two ladies are soon to come!
The Psychology of Your 20s with Jemma Sbeg
I am a podcast girly through and through and I’ve really been loving this one lately. She covers a variety of topics and challenges we may approach in our 20s (just life in general even) and how it impacts our minds. I’m a sucker for a good self-development podcast so if you’re interested in hearing more recommendations for this I’m happy to share.
Wendy Outdoors
If you’re looking for a wholesome watch on YouTube, I recently came across this channel called Wendy Outdoors, where we follow an elder lady called Wendy on her outdoor adventures. Pure wholesome content.
It’s Complicated
There is something about this film that just does it for me, I can rewatch it time and time again. I mean, I think this goes for every Nancy Meyers film in general to be honest, the cinematography, aesthetic, plot, everything is perfection. It feels quite Spring/Summer like to me, perhaps because of the gorgeous garden scenes, but it’s a must watch.
RECCS /
✧ what i’m recommending.
Beauty of Joseon Dynasty Cream
I see this brand all the time but hadn’t tried anything, so the other day when I was in Boots I was having a browse and decided to try their Dynasty Cream. So far i can say that I’m really liking it, it’s got a thing consistency and feels nicely hydrating on the skin.
Morning walks
Not only is this so good for your circadian rhythm, it just gets you in a good mood and feeling set up for the rest of the day. You don’t have the fact that you need to get your steps in looming over your head all day, you’ve got some sun in your face first thing and feels all-round more energised.
Analogue lifestyle
If you frequent the same corners and algorithms of the internet as me, you’ve likely heard of the analogue trend. Yes it’s become “trendy”, but I’m personally a fan of anything that gets us off of our devices, connects us to ourselves and incorporates more physical media & hobbies. I find journalling somewhat tricky to stick to as a strict daily practice, but I am trying to incorporate it more frequently. I’d love to hear about any of your analogue hobbies.
Those are some of the things I’m doing for Spring and that I’ve been enjoying recently, I love hearing other people’s goals, interests & reccs too so please leave them below and let’s have a chat!
Bisous,

Agreed that It's Complicated feels very Spring/Summer! The Nancy Myers Spring/Summer movie trifecta is It's Complicated > Something's Gotta Give > The Parent Trap.🫶
I'm also here for the analog life, although also have thoughts about the performative way it's shown online sometimes.😂
My favourite analog activity right now is playing Solitaire with physical cards and listening to an album in full, front to back, no skips.
